40 DAYS FOR LIFE FALL CAMPAIGN
September 25 - November 3, 2019
PLM began sponsoring the local Jackson, Mississippi, 40 Days for Life campaign in 2010. Our volunteers have reported a reduction in the number of women coming for abortions during the campaigns. We try to cover from 7 AM to 7 PM at the local abortion facility during our local 40 Days for Life campaigns. We are looking for 40 churches to each take a day during 40 Days for Life and commit to have volunteers on the sidewalk praying.
Volunteers are needed to serve on the 40 Days for Life Committee. Contact our office for details.
40 Days for Life started in Bryan/College Station, Texas. It was started by four people and prayers to God. The first vigil was held in 2004 where more than 1,000 new volunteers helped ensure all 960 hours of the vigil were covered. The local abortion rate during that first 40 days dropped by 28 percent.
In 2007, the original 40 Days for Life leaders launched the first ever nationally coordinated 40 Days for Life campaign. Before long, campaigns were being hosted in all 50 states and dozens of countries across all six populated continents.
Since 2007, 40 Days for Life participants report 14,636 lives saved from abortion during a campaign. 172 abortion workers have experienced conversions and left their jobs during 40 Days for Life campaigns. Some 96 abortion centers (and numerous referral centers) where campaigns have been hosted have closed their doors forever. The Bryan/College Station Planned Parenthood joined the list in 2013.
