Upcoming Event

Calling a Sacred Assembly! Saturday, February 9th, 2019 - 9 to 10 AM Mississippi's Last Abortion Mill, 2903 N. State Street, Jackson, MS

Pastors for Life MS are calling Individuals, The Church, and the Nation to repentance over allowing legalized abortion to continue unabated for 46 years in our country. We will be pleading with God to send a spirit of revival and renewal to Jackson, to Mississippi, and to the Nation.

12“Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” 13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness And He relents from doing harm. 14 Who knows if He will turn and relent, And leave a blessing behind Him— A grain offering and a drink offering For the Lord your God?" 15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; 16 Gather the people, Sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and nursing babes; Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing room. 17 Let the priests, who minister to the Lord, Weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord, And do not give Your heritage to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ Joel 2:12-17

6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. James 4:6-10

This is a call to The Church, not to the lost. We will be in fact "preaching to the choir." As we enter this solemn time please do so in a spirit of humility and with a broken heart seeking God and His favor. May Jesus Christ be lifted up!

Pastors and church leaders will be sharing (preaching) from God's Word and leading us in prayer...

  1. Concerning our own individual sin - especially where the shedding of innocent blood is concerned -
  2. Concerning The Church's failure to respond appropriately to the holocaust of abortion -
  3. Concerning The Nation and our governmental leaders' failure to protect the most innocent among us - the pre-born

The Abortion Mill is scheduled to be open - we will begin arriving by 7:30 AM

President's Corner

It’s been a busy year so far! An exciting development has been facilitating a group of pro-life Mississippi young people as they formed their own PLM subsidiary, "Voices for Life”. They had their first meeting in November 2018 with 37 young people present and elected their officers. I was able to be with some of them at the State Capitol last week as they practiced being a “Voice for Life” by lobbying our State Representatives and Senators. This group prays regularly at the last abortion facility in Mississippi, helping change the hearts of Moms and Dads who are going in to abort their child. They truly are “the pro-life generation”! They fill me with hope.

I am putting out a question and a challenge:

Mississippi youth - Junior High, High School, College age - what are you doing with your time? There is an army of young people rising up to defend life. Are you ready to stand with them? How you spend your days adds up to how you spend your life. Make it count - for Christ, His will and LIFE.

Call or email Pro-Life Mississippi and let us know that you are ready to be a part of this group, or even start a “Voices for Life” chapter in your school, church or community. We’re here to help.

Pastors for Life Goes to the Sidewalk
Events Mark 46th Anniversary of Roe v Wade

Pastor Doug Lane, founding member of Pastors for Life MS, led 7 consecutive days of prayer services outside the state’s last remaining abortion facility in Fondren. Beginning on Sunday, January 13, dozens of prayerful pro-life Christians gathered with him to hold “Church on the Sidewalk”. Mize Baptist Church brought a busload of their members to attend the opening service.

On Sunday, January 20th, Pastors for Life joined with a visiting national pro-life group, Operation Save America, to hold a Jericho March at the abortion site.

Jericho March on Saturday, January 26, 2019

For six days the pro-life contingent, led by OSA founder Pastor Rusty Thomas, marched around the block where the abortion building is located, singing and praying. On the 7th day, Saturday, January 26th, the prayer warriors circled the block 7 times, imitating Joshua’s biblical campaign.

Pastor Lane explained the purpose of Church on the Sidewalk and the Jericho March for Life:

“We are seeking God’s help to stop the ‘shedding of innocent blood’ in Mississippi. We pray that when the bloodshed stops, God in his infinite mercy will send a spiritual awakening to Mississippi that will remove the ‘desire’ for abortion from people’s hearts.”

To which PLM answers: “Amen!”

Candlelight Vigils held around the state to pray for an end to abortion.

Hundreds gather for Candlelight Vigil for the Unborn at the State Capitol.

Pro-Life Mississippi and Pastors for Life Mississippi saw a great turn out on Saturday, January 19, for the 2019 annual Candlelight Vigil for the Unborn at the State Capitol. Pastor Elijah Friedeman, the new director of Pastors for Life Mississippi, hosted the event. The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Jackson, His Excellency the Most Reverend Joseph Kopacz, gave the opening invocation. Leaders and pastors from many different denominations followed, offering prayers for the unborn, abortion-minded mothers and fathers, abortion workers, abortion doctors, and our political leaders.

“This is a spiritual battle at its most basic level,” stated PLM President Laura Duran. “The fervent prayers of the people of God will be the effective weapons of our warfare against the culture of death.”

In Tupelo 50 people braved the cold to keep vigil for the unborn.

Tanya Britton, one of the organizers for the Tupelo event, was pleased to see so many people brave the cold temperatures to honor the babies who have died from abortion and pray for an end to "legalized" abortion.

Vigils were also held in Long Beach, Natchez, and Philadelphia, Mississippi. PLM and Pastors for Life MS hope to see even more prayer vigils across the state next year. If you would like to help arrange a vigil in your area next January, please contact the PLM office and we will be honored to help.

New York Codifies Infanticide

The following article is taken in part from LifeSiteNews.com

Fri Jan 25, 2019

January 25, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – LifeSiteNews readers and other concerned pro-lifers have responded overwhelmingly to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s lighting of the World Trade Center in pink to celebrate a new law enshrining a “fundamental right” to virtually-unlimited abortion in the state.

This week, New York’s state Senate voted 38-24 and the state Assembly 92-47 in favor of the so-called “Reproductive Health Act.” Cuomo, who signed the bill, called it a “historic victory for New Yorkers and our progressive values” and ordered the One World Trade Center spire to be lit in pink to mark the occasion – the same building where a memorial recognizes eleven preborn children killed in the September 11 terror attacks, Susan B. Anthony List notes.

The new law declares that “Every individual who becomes pregnant has the fundamental right to choose to carry the pregnancy to term, to give birth to a child, or to have an abortion,” erases the state’s recognition of preborn babies older than 24 weeks as potential homicide victims, removes abortion from the penal code entirely, and allows licensed health practitioners other than full doctors to commit abortions.

The New York State Right to Life Committee warns that by declaring abortion a “fundamental right,” it opens the door to invalidating “any limits on abortion” and “mandat[ing] that everyone take part in the culture of death”; prevent pregnant women whose babies are killed in violent attacks from seeing justice; and have the effect of “authorizing infanticide” by repealing the requirement that a second physician be on hand in the event that an attempted abortion past twenty weeks yields a live infant.

On Wednesday afternoon, LifeSiteNews launched a petition condemning the “outrageous” gesture and calling on Cuomo to not only apologize for the celebration but to revoke his signature on the law. As of Friday morning, that petition has 77,000 signatures.

“It is appalling that you would use this building, a symbol of peace, national solidarity and our opposition to violence against the innocent, to celebrate a highly divisive bill that legalizes the killing of the most defenseless, innocent human beings,” the petition declares.

As the petition continues to gain support, pro-life leaders across the country have spoken out against the radical new law, and many Catholic observers are calling on church leaders in the state to "excommunicate Cuomo and other pro-abortion lawmakers who claim to be Catholic while disregarding Catholic teaching on the sanctity of life and explicit condemnation of abortion.

Jon Speed, the Christian proprietor of New York bookstore The Book Scout, peacefully protested the new law by closing his store Wednesday for one “day of mourning.” He posted a message on the store’s front door stating, “We will not collect sales tax today for a tyrannical government that murders babies.”

For the time being, however, Cuomo is basking in the acclaim of his pro-abortion allies. The new law is part of his vow to promote “the most progressive agenda this state [has] ever seen.”

PETITION: Say "NO" to celebrating abortion by lighting up One World Trade Center. (Sign the petition on LifeSiteNews website.)

UPDATE: As of 5:15 pm Eastern on January 29, the petition has grown to over 121,000 signatures.

Virginia Legislation to Legalize Infanticide Fails

VIRGINIA, January 31, 2019 (LifeSiteNews)

The state lawmaker at the center of the abortion-until-birth controversy in Virginia is defending the bill she introduced in the state legislature recently that would have allowed no limit on when unborn babies can be killed in their mother’s wombs. Delegate Kathy Tran, a Democrat from Northern Virginia, downplays the tidal wave of criticism she has been receiving for her now failed bill. She stated her bill would have “done nothing to change” current Virginia law. She says she has only tried to “make sure that women are able to make these decisions and access these services in a timely manner.”

According to the bill’s summary, the law would:

  • Eliminate the requirement that an abortion in the second trimester of pregnancy and prior to the third trimester be performed in a hospital.
  • The bill eliminates all the procedures and processes, including the performance of an ultrasound, required to effect a woman's informed written consent to the performance of an abortion; however, the bill does not change the requirement that a woman's informed written consent be first obtained.
  • The bill eliminates the requirement that two other physicians certify that a third trimester abortion is necessary to prevent the woman's death or impairment of her mental or physical health, as well as the need to find that any such impairment to the woman's health would be substantial and irremediable.
  • The bill also removes language classifying facilities that perform five or more first-trimester abortions per month as hospitals for the purpose of complying with regulations establishing minimum standards for hospitals.

(PLM : These radical bills cannot be enforced until and if Roe v Wade is overturned. The legality of abortion would then revert to individual state laws. If there is any good news in all of this, it is that abortion supporters really fear that a conservative Supreme Court may well overturn the Roe decision. Therefore, they are putting laws in place that would immediately keep abortion available.)
