Core Values

  • Christ-Centered – We seek to bring together the Body of Christ in a spirit of unity to pray for and participate in the local sidewalk advocacy program.
  • Loving – Love is the cornerstone of the ministry and the motivation for all that we do. We are present in order to love that mother and family facing an unplanned pregnancy, her child and our entire community, as we offer them life-affirming alternatives.
  • Peaceful – Rather than yelling, shouting or condemning others, we boldly, but peacefully share the truth-in-love with those at the abortion center and seek to be an example to the surrounding community in how we conduct ourselves on the sidewalk.
  • Prayerful – Prayer provides the foundation for all we do; our relationship with Christ is the source of our strength. Sidewalk Advocates are encouraged to pray before, during and after their time at the abortion center and invite their community to pray for the local program.
  • Law-abiding – We comply with all local and state laws and act within the confines of our First Amendment rights as we share information.
  • Servant-leadership – We recognize that our ministry is not about us, but sharing the love of God with those needing life-affirming alternatives. We seek to serve others around us first and be an example in all that we do (cf: Matthew 23:11)

Kavanaugh Nominated to US Supreme Court

On Monday, July 9, President Donald Trump kept a campaign promise to nominate to the federal courts only judges who respect and uphold the Constitution when he announced his choice of Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh to fill Justice Anthony M. Kennedy’s seat on the Supreme Court.

According to Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the national pro-life group Susan B Anthony List, “Kavanaugh ( a member of Washington’s conservative legal establishment) is an exceptional jurist, an originalist in the mold of Antonin Scalia and Neil Gorsuch."

In an article published July 11 in the Washington Examiner, Dannenfelser highlighted Kavanaugh's opinion in the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals case of Garza v. Hargan in which the ACLU asserted a radical, new constitutional right to abortion on demand for illegal immigrant minors in U.S. custody. Kavanaugh forcefully dissented, concluding that requiring the Trump administration to help a teenage immigrant get an abortion would fail to recognize the government’s “permissible interest in favoring fetal life, protecting the best interests of a minor, and refraining from facilitating abortion.”

While anticipating an epic Senate confirmation battle, PLM is hopeful that this imminently qualified jurist with an established reputation for fairness and integrity, will be successfully seated on the United States Supreme Court. We echo Marorie Dannenfelser’s assessment: “This (nomination) is wonderful news for the pro-life movement.”

Beautiful Testimony given at Jackson First Baptist Church on Mother's Day, May 13, 2018

I met LaTonia in mid-February outside the abortion clinic in Jackson. When I told her about the support available to her, should she choose life, she listened closely and began to ask specific questions about how we could help her. I could see that her heart was soft and that she felt convicted about what she was about to do, so I gave her my number and pleaded with her to turn away and to let us walk with her through the difficulties ahead. A few minutes after she drove away, she called me to tell me that she had decided to keep her baby and accept our help. Later that day we met up at a Subway in Jackson. That's when I learned more about her situation. A diligent and loving mom of four kids ages five and under, she felt overwhelmed by the impossibility of caring for another child. They live off of her husband’s Wal-Mart salary and were already making use of many outreach programs such as Women in Crisis and food stamps. I could see the tenderness she showed for her kids and how much they seemed to be thriving. Over the past three months, we’ve been able to raise funds to help with food, gas, safe beds for the kids, and other household items. LaTonia has been able to work out continued childcare and was offered a teaching assistant job in the fall in addition to the work she has lined up for the summer. Many families from the community have reached out by donating helpful items, praying for her, and offering their time to help out when needed. We will be having a baby shower this summer as well! I’ve watched the Lord provide through His church each time a new need arises. He is so faithful! There is still a long road ahead for this sweet family, but God’s mercies are new each morning! Please pray for financial provision, courage, and ultimately salvation for them!
