Even COVID-19 Doesn't Stop Babies From Dying at Mississippi's Last Abortion Facility

On Thursday, March 19, 2020 the Mississippi State Department of Health sent out a COVID-19 Health Alert that stated the following measures must be taken:

  1. Physician, hospitals and medical centers must defer elective surgical and diagnostic procedures until COVID-19 spread has been diminished and the supply of protective medical equipment is restored.
  2. Physicians and providers should reschedule non-urgent medical appointments for a later date.
  3. Dentists must delay non-emergency or routine dental procedures.
  4. Patients should reschedule any non-essential procedures, surgeries or medical visits until the threat of COVID-19 is diminished.

Pro-Life Mississippi’s sidewalk volunteers have informed us that not only has Jackson Women’s Health Organization remained open but they are packing people in their office and parking lot. Our volunteers have witnessed many vehicles with out of state plates this week coming from Louisiana and Texas.

Our volunteers have filed complaints with the Health Department, the Mayor of Jackson, the Governor, and the Mississippi Board of Medical Licensure. With New Orleans set to be the next epi-center of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are concerned that individuals who may have been exposed to COVID-19 are being packed into an office without regard to social distancing.

Safe City for the Pre-born – OCTOBER 1, 2019.

Pro-Life Mississippi would like to recognize the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Pearl, MS, for their strong, fearless leadership by passing a Resolution designating the City of Pearl as a “Safe City for the Pre-born”. The Resolution was passed on October 1, 2019. It is with much admiration we take a stand beside the leaders of the City of Pearl. These leaders are governing within the confines of the US and MS Constitutions as enumerated in the Resolution. It is our prayer that other City and County leaders will join the Pearl City Leaders in standing for and protecting our pre-born citizens!

PRESS RELEASE October 3, 2019
For Immediate Release

The Jackson City Council voted on October 1, 2019, to ‘trash’ the US Constitution. When you look at all the turmoil this city has in its past, one thing is evident – we have learned nothing from our sad history. There is one exception, Ashby Foote III (Ward 1 Councilman), defended our rights as enumerated in the US Constitution. The citizens of Jackson owe him a debt of gratitude.

Again, those in ‘power’ are continuing to restrict the rights given to all citizens in the US Constitution. The Jackson City Council voted to deny all citizens their right to exercise Free Speech & the right to share the Gospel on the streets of Jackson around ‘health care facilities’.

All citizens should be concerned because now that Pandora’s Box has been opened, where will it stop?? The City Council used the term ‘health care facilities’ in the Ordinance but the only facility mentioned in the city council meeting was the abortion facility on the corner of Fondren Pl & N State St. When did the killing of pre-born boys & girls become ‘health care’??

The sidewalk counselors will continue to be on the sidewalks to pray & share other options with the expectant Moms. This year alone there have been 39 confirmed babies saved. Every life is important & valuable - born & pre-born. Come join us to emphasize Life on October 19, 2019, as we march from St. Richard’s to the abortion facility and back. We will begin at 8 a.m.

No City Council has the right to negate or usurp the rights guaranteed to all citizens by the US Constitution. We ask all citizens to let their concerns be known to those in ‘power’. Remember, rights have been denied in the past to various groups of citizens – who will be next?
